FiberPlanIT

FiberPlanIT consists of Comsof's extensive platform of tools, algorithms and software components, resulting from our broad expertise in network planning, design and optimization. We applied our knowledge to the current demand of NGN networks for higher speeds, and - more specifically - to the design, roll-out and documentation of an FTTx access network.

Since an access network reaches up to the customer premises and traverses virtually all inhabited streets, our starting point is a GIS (Geographical Information System) database, which describes the target area(s) in detail.

A chief objective in any FTTx acces network deployment should be keeping the cost minimal. In order to do this, there are questions that need to be asked, and possibilities that should be considered. FiberPlanIT can be a great benefit in this phase. A (non-extensive) list of subjects that can be simulated and explored using FiberPlanIT is presented here:

This section describes the utilization of FiberPlanIT in the three great stages of an FTTx access network construction: design, roll-out and operational administration.

The expertise, simulation and optimisation algorithms present in the FiberPlanIT framework can be provided by Comsof as either one (or more) consultancy projects, or a dedicated stand-alone application can be developed on demand of the customer.
